A dewatering screen consists of various components, including a screen box, screen plates, vibrator, elastic support device, and flexible coupling. What are the functions of these components? The structural characteristics and principles of the dewatering screen components are listed below.

1. Screen Box

(1) The dewatering screen frame is a spatial metal structure connected by G-strength bolts, mainly composed of side plates, inner and outer reinforcing plates, crossbeams, reinforcing beams, and support end beams. The side plates and lower crossbeams form a load-bearing truss to bear the load of the screen plates and materials. The support end beams are connected to the elastic support device to bear the weight of the vibrating parts of the screen. An inlet end beam and an inlet liner are provided at the inlet end of the screen frame. An outlet end beam and an outlet liner are provided at the outlet end.

(2) Screen Plate: Divided into stainless steel welded screen plates or polyurethane screen plates. Slotted screen plates are used for dewatering, desliming, and dewatering, while rectangular or square hole screen plates are used for other processes.

2. Dewatering Screen Vibrator

The vibrator is a block eccentric structure symmetrically arranged on both sides of the screen box. The symmetrical eccentric blocks are connected by flexible connecting shafts or universal drive shafts, and an external protective cover is provided. The motor directly drives the vibrator assembly via a flexible coupling. The amplitude is adjusted by changing the number of counterweight plates or the angle between the main and auxiliary eccentric blocks.

3. Elastic Support Device

The screening machine is fixed to the building by four sets of elastic support devices, which use rubber springs for vibration damping.

4. Flexible Coupling

The flexible coupling uses a petal-shaped structure to connect with the vibrator, which can withstand a large starting torque and reduce damage to the screening machine caused by over-resonance during startup and shutdown.
