The working principle of a chamber filter press comprises three steps: pressing, feeding, and cake unloading. The filtrate passes through the filter cloth and flows along the grooves of the filter plate to the corner channels of the plate frame, where it is collected and discharged. After filtration, rinse the filter residue with clean water. Then open the filter press to remove the filter cake. Re-tighten the plates and frames, and begin the next work cycle.

1. Pressing

Before the operation, the filter press should be inspected: check whether the filter cloth is folded or overlapped, and whether the power supply is properly connected. After inspection, the pressing operation can be carried out. First, press the “Start” button to begin operation of the oil pump. Then, press the “Clamp” button to activate the piston, which pushes the clamping plate to tighten. Once the clamping force reaches the set high pressure, the hydraulic system automatically shuts down.

2. Feeding

Once the filter press is tightened, the material can be fed in. Turn on the feed pump and slowly open the feed valve. The feed pressure will gradually increase to the normal pressure. When no liquid is discharged, or only a small amount of liquid is discharged from the outlet, it indicates that the filter chamber is completely filled and a filter cake has formed

3. Cake unloading

First, shut off the feed pump and feed valve. Then press the “Release” button, and the piston rod will drive the pressure plate to retract. After retracting to the appropriate position, the filter cake will be automatically unloaded. At the same time, clean the filter residue adhering to the sealing surface to prevent it from getting stuck and affecting the sealing performance, thus causing leakage. This completes one operation cycle.
