What Are The Functions Of The Components On A Vibrating Feeder?

Vibrating feeders are used in the production process to continuously and evenly feed block, granular, and powdery materials from the hopper to the crusher or vibrating screen. Vibrating feeders are widely used in industries such as metallurgy, coal, electronics, machinery, chemicals, building materials, light industry, and grain. A vibrating feeder is composed of multiple structural components. What are the functions of these components?

Main components of a vibrating feeder

A vibrating feeder consists of a feeding trough, vibrator, springs, a support structure, spring supports, a vibrating motor, vibrating bars, and a transmission device. The vibration source for the trough-type vibrating feeder is the vibrator, which comprises two eccentric shafts (active and passive) and a gear pair.

Functions of components on a vibrating feeder

1. Feeding trough

The feeding process of the vibratory feeder is achieved by using an electromagnetic vibrator to drive the feeding trough to perform periodic linear reciprocating vibrations along an inclined direction. Each time the feeding trough vibrates, the material in the trough is thrown up and jumps forward once, thus achieving the feeding purpose.

2. Vibrator

The vibrator is the vibration source of the vibrating feeder. The vibrator consists of two eccentric shafts and a gear pair. The magnitude of the excitation force directly affects the amplitude of the load-bearing body.

3. Carrier

During vibration, energy is transferred to the material. Its mass is an important parameter in the vibration system, and the load-bearing body must also have sufficient stiffness and strength.

4. Rotating device

The rotation of the eccentric block in the transmission generates centrifugal force, providing the force required for the vibrating feeder to rotate. This forces the movable parts, such as the screen box and vibrator, to perform forced, continuous circular or near-circular motion.
