Plate and frame filter presses are commonly used sludge treatment equipment in wastewater treatment systems. A plate and frame filter press consists of five parts: the filter press frame, the hydraulic system, the electrical system, the filter plates, and the filter plate conveying system.

Wear parts of the plate and frame filter press
Filter cloth, water tap, O-ring, and sealing ring are all common wear parts. Replacement can be made promptly depending on usage. To ensure the normal operation of the equipment, these spare parts can be purchased from the original manufacturer when purchasing the equipment.
How does a plate and frame filter press work?
The working principle of a plate and frame filter press is relatively simple. First, the plate and frame assembly is pressed tightly by hydraulic force, and the settled sludge enters from the middle and is distributed between the filter cloths. Because the plates and frames are pressed tightly together, the sludge cannot overflow. Under the high pressure of screw pumps and diaphragm pumps, water in the sludge seeps out from the filter cloth and flows into the return water pipe. The mud cake remains in the cavity. After the pressure is released from the plate and frame, the filter plate opens, and the mud cake falls down by gravity, thus completing the final process.
Reasons for material spraying between filter plates
1. The filter plate is damaged, or there are through grooves on the sealing surface of the filter plate.
2. The lack of a pressure gauge on the feed pipe led to uncontrolled feed pressure, which ultimately caused material spraying.
3. The filter plate sealing surface is covered with filter cake and other debris, and the gap is large after the filter plate is pressed together.
4. Insufficient pressure at the top of the filter plates. When the feed pressure is increased, the force between the filter plates will cause them to open up, resulting in material spraying.
