The spiral classifier is a type of mineral processing equipment that uses the principle that solid particles have different specific gravities and therefore different sedimentation rates in liquids to perform mechanical classification. Spiral Classifier Installation and Operating Procedures

1. Start feeding slurry only after the spiral is rotating, gradually increasing the feed rate.

2. While the spiral is operating, if a specific malfunction (such as a jam or overload) requires immediate shutdown, immediately lift the spiral out of the slurry surface. Never allow the spiral to remain pressed into the slurry. Quickly open the slurry valve to prevent clogging.

3. When restarting, lower the spiral to a certain position before rotating it.

4. If the classifier needs to be stopped during operation, first stop feeding. Wait until the material is completely classified and the machine is clear of material before stopping.

How to Maintain a Spiral Classifier?

1. All lubrication points should be lubricated with sodium-based or calcium-based grease.

2. Check the reducer’s internal lubricating oil level every shift to ensure it’s at the oil mark. Change the oil every six months.

3. Regularly inspect the lower support or intermediate frame bearings, bearings, and seals for wear and damage, ensuring timely replacement.
